What do the countries in the list below have in common?

1)

China

1,010

2)

Iran

177

3)

Pakistan

82

4=)

Iraq

65

4=)

Sudan

65

6)

USA

53

Interesting. First, what they do not have in common: Political systems, major religions, geographic location, language, legal system or television networks.

To sum up the list, we have two members of George W. Bush's "Axis of Evil", an Islamic Republic, the worlds largest Communist power, a nation in the midst of a genocidal purge and, way at the bottom, my beloved homeland.

The top 6 nations that still use Capital Punishment.

I would like to back out the per capita rates on this but don't have the time right now. I bet adjusted per capita, the US would not make the top 20.

CNN's counterpoint article balancing Ted Nugent

I thought that this was interesting. Tom Plate writes that there are "too many guns floating around the United States".

Quote: "These students were not killed by a Korean, they were killed by a 9 mm handgun and a .22-caliber handgun."

I think Tom, if you check into it, you will find that a lunatic was pulling the triggers.

By your logic quoted above Mr. Plate, why don't we then put the guns on trial?

In Mr. Plate's mind Justice is as follows:

Picture a courtroom with a Glock 9mm handgun laying on the witness stand between the microphone and a half full glass of water.

Prosecuter: Mr. 9mm Glock, where were you on the morning in question?

Silence......

More Silence..

Prosecutor: Mr. Glock, I am asking you a question.

Silence.

Prosecutor: Have you nothing to say?

Silence.

Judge: Mr. 9, I will charge you with contempt if you do not answer the questions.

Silence

Judge: Bailiff, take him away.

Bailiff trigger locks the Glock sitting on the witness stand and carries it to the city evidence room vault to do some hard time.

Judge: Bring in his accomplice.... Mr. Walther 22!

Thank you Ted

Ted Nugent's rant is correct, if a bit unpolished and vitriolic. But hey, he's a rocker with a blood lead concentration of 40 micrograms/deciliter, it's amazing that he can sing an entire song without barking like a dog.

Rush Is Right^2. (Right as in Correct * Right as in Liberal^-1)

Now, before you fall out of your chairs, I am saying that Rush Limbaugh is right in this particular instance, not in general. No one, not even my mother-in-law is wrong all of the time. I'm convinced that she was right those several times purely out of the quantum uncertainty involved in the neuro-chemical process, not due to logic, reason nor a state of sanity. Perhaps sometimes the billions of electron orbital clouds in the neurons just line up the right way, who knows?

I am talking about this transcript of Rush's April 19th broadcast:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_041907/content/01125108.guest.html

I link to Rush's rag from this blog to balance out my link to Michael Moore, who's webpage is brimming full of partisan crap, as much so as Rush's.

Remove Limbaugh's immature jabs at liberals, the left, and the "drive by media" when you read the transcript, Rush's point is valid.

It's unfortunate that we can't get a version of this without the juvenile language. A "Rush Unplugged", if you will. Marko's writing comes to mind. If Rush's message was as refined as Marko's, people might take him seriously, look at me, I can't stand the guy, and yet I think he's right on this one.

Apologies for the lack of links. Blogger's toolbar is broken and I am lazy.

For the answers to life's important questions: The Firing Line.com

What gun is ergonomically best for mustache wearers?

What about speedo wearers?

Or Nudist Shooters?

How about nudist shooters with handlebar mustaches, noserings and shaved armpits?

Seriously, the second post by "wildalaska" had me laughing.

The politically correct word for the term: blowout.

Following my bout with a shrimp dinner at the local eatery, my wife coined the term:"Shrimp Laxative".

Big surprise!

I'm reeling over this one.
